Description of Geopolitical Summer School

  • The Geopolitical Summer School has a highly interactive character, with a focus on the various geopolitical traditions.

  • The module offers lectures, workshops and final student presentations.

  • It also involves an individual and a group assignment.

Geopolitical Summer School basic information

Period: 24 June-28 June 2024

Preferred pre-knowledge: awareness of major political, social and economic trends along with awareness of political situation in particular regions.

Evaluation: final group presentation/project

Number of participants: 15 - 25


Course fee: 290 EUR

Target Audience of Geopolitical Summer School

Students currently enrolled in Bachelor´s, Master’s or PhD´s degree programs in Geopolitics, Area Studies, Political Science, International Relations and Economics and other relevant fields. There are no age or country limits for the application.

Importance of Geopolitics

Geopolitics was for a long time forgotten and omitted way to analyse the international politics. With the return of revanschism, annexation as a political tool, or creation of un-governed and unrecognized territories its prominence as analytical tool comes back into spotlights.

The Geopolitical Summer School teaches students to


become familiar with concepts theories of Classic, Realpolitik Geopolitics, NeoClassic Geopolitics. Critical Geopolitics and Russian Geopolitics


understand geographic limits and potential of power


analyse current geopolitical trends and threats


understand the situation in particular region and external players

How to apply

Please fill in the application form and send it, along with your CV to bohumil.dobos@gmail.com.

The selected participants will be notified.

  • The programme is intended for students who are currently enrolled in a college or university or recently graduated.

  • The application deadline is 5th June 2024.

  • Approximately 15 to 25 students will be admitted to the Summer University.

  • Students admitted to the program are expected to participate fully, which means attending all classes and lectures. The classes will be held only in-person in Prague.

  • A good level of English is essential for successful participation in the Summer University.

  • Preliminary admitted students will be asked to confirm their attendance and pay the programme fee within two weeks.

Fees and Cost

The program fee is 290 EUR.

What is included:

  • Tuition (all lectures, workshops, discussions, final group presentations, evaluation)

  • Reading materials (an on-line version will be at your disposal after enrolling)

  • In case you are accepted, paid the fee, and find out that you cannot participate in the summer school for any reason, we will not refund the fee after 30th May 2022 (the sum will be used on administration costs, transfer fees, labour costs and storno fees)

What is excluded:

  • Travel bursaries

  • Accommodation

  • Dinners

  • Pocket money

  • Medical insurance


Participants are required to book their own accommodation.
